In 1932, Mike Heinlein and his wife purchased a portion of the old McCormick farm on the south side of Beaver Grade Road and converted it into a golf course. The farm contained one hundred eighty acres and a moonshiner's house. The house had two sides missing from a blast that occurred when the still blew up. Today the golf course is known as Bon Air Golf Club.
