Abtsgreuth, the birthplace of John Heinlein (1835-1915), is a village in Steigerwald with about 100 inhabitants. It belongs to the community Miinchsteinach in the Landkreis Neustadt an der Aisch -Bad Windsheim and lies almost exactly halfway between Wurzburg and Nuremberg in Mittelfranken on the hill between Central Steinach and Altershausen about four miles northwest of Munchsteinach to 340 meters above sea level.
